Billy Szura’s first solo!

Billy Szura’s first solo!

Never too cold for this guy… Congratulations to William Szura on his first solo! He’s one of the hardest working students out there, and it shows! He made 3 perfect landings today, while his instructor Meredith Malczewski watched from the sidelines. Way to ring in the New Year and make your CFI proud!

Flying in the winter is not without its challenges, but at Region Flyers we never miss an opportunity to fly, especially on a cool crisp day without a cloud in the sky.

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a pilot, now is the time. Call us today to schedule your first lesson!

Brett Milton Solo’s Today

Brett Milton Solo’s Today

Although an experienced Army Helicopter Pilot, we want to congratulate Brett Milton on his first ever solo flight in any kind of fixed-wing aircraft.  Job well done, and thank you for your service Brett!

Mike Partin’s first Solo Flight

Mike Partin’s first Solo Flight

Today at Region Flyers, Mike Partin of Portage, IN took to the skies for the first time by himself. Mike has been around aviation for his whole career and this was a big accomplishment. He made 3 smooth landings on runway 9 at KVPZ in his Piper Warrior. When asked by his instructor, Brad Detert, what he thought, Mike had this to say: “Well it certainly jumped in the air a lot quicker with no one in the right seat weighing it down!”

We’d like to congratulate Mike on his accomplishment today. We’re looking forward to the training to come in the following weeks.

Great job Mike!
